Hello my name is Walter Daglish and I am from Edwinstowe,
Nottinhamshire in the UK.
I'm married to Pauline also from the North East and have one
daughter Elizabeth.
I spent my childhood in a mining village in the North East
called Silksworth now part of the City of Sunderland.
I started work in the mining industry as an apprentice
Fitter at Wearmouth Colliery (now the 'Stadium of Light' home of Sunderland
AFC).
I transferred to Nottinghamshire in 1980 and worked at
Welbeck and Thoresby Collieries until the privatisation of the Industry in
December 1994.
I was appointed by RJB Mining (the new owners) at their HQ
near Doncaster as IT Support for the UK Deep Mines.
I left the mining industry in October 1999 and joined
Nottinghamshire County Council as a Senior R&D IT Officer.
